Introduction

Join this small friendly group and improve your Greek. On this practical course the emphasis is on listening and speaking, and on extending your reading and writing skills.
Greek lessons are based on "Greek Now 1+1".

What is the course about?

The course aims to revise and build on the basics covered in Beginners course - Level 1, 2 and 3, expanding the students vocabulary, their command of functional phrases and developing and understanding of more complex structures.

What level is the course?

Intermediate - Stage 1. Students should have studied Modern Greek for about one year recently or have an equivalent knowledge of the language.

What will the course cover? (contents,themes,projects)

Units 9-12 of the textbook "Greek Now 1+1", covering functions such as daily routine; expressing opinions; telephone/correspondence skills; booking appointments; shopping; travelling; giving instructions.

What can I expect to achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to:

-book appointments
-order in a restaurant
-buy things in shops
-make travel arrangements
-hold a telephone conversation
-write an informal letter/card

How will I be taught?

Communicative approach balanced with grammar and further development of the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Homework will be given after each lesson.
